405 - SURVEYING - II (C) (2008 Scheme) Time : 3 Hours Max. Marks : 100 Answer all questions. I. (a) What is strength of figure in triangulation? (b) From a satellite station $\mathrm{S}, 6.5 \mathrm{~m}$ from the main triangulation station A , the following directions were observed (A) $0^{\circ} 0^{\prime} 0^{\prime \prime}$, (B) $124^{\circ} 20^{\prime} 30^{\prime \prime}$, (C) $210^{\circ} 16^{\prime} 12^{\prime \prime}$ and (D) $315^{\circ} 20^{\prime} 18^{\prime \prime}$ The lengths of $A B, A C, A D$ are respectively $3250.5 \mathrm{~m}, 4050.22 \mathrm{~m}$ and 3650 m . Determine the directions of $A B, A C$ and $A D$. OR
Explanation
The strength of figure is a measure of the reliability of a triangulation network. The directions of AB, AC, and AD are calculated using the given data and the principles of triangulation.
